technology… ranting… overused ellipses…
is Downtime. I feel disconnected from the internets.
The hilarious thing is that I thought to myself, “hey, I can look at the Bloglines RSS feed to see what the problem is!” before realizing that the RSS feed I would read would be through Bloglines.. Oh the painful irony.
I love Flickr, and it has shown itself to be rather reliable, but whenever a webservice has downtime, as such:
it makes salient the danger of utilizing web apps 100% to store your info. Web sites storing your data may be up 99.9999% of a month, but that 1 hour that they may be down could be when it is essential for you to obtain your data from their server.
Then again, hotlinked pictures are still available, so it isn’t all bad…
