The fantastic thing about blogging is that most bloggers blog about things that they have read at other blogs or try to create new content to be read by other bloggers. The disturbing trend is that most non-pro bloggers will inevitably have difficulties creating new content all of the time and turn towards the favored topic to write about when they have no ideas: “Ideas for what to do when you have no ideas about what to blog.”
Always a scintillating topic, I am sure that can be distilled into such trite topics as:
- write what you know
- revisit your best posts
- tell about a personal experience (BTW… I am just guessing what they would say)
My suggestion, if you are bored… write about other bloggers. This way it looks like you have something to write, but you are really just reacting/copying from another, and they may even appreciate this marginal-plagiarism!
Theoretically, you could write about another blogger, create a link, and then fall into the inescapable void of a troll war; everything generated from one remark that is never let go… The process goes like this:
- write about something you disagree with or agree with on another blog, then link to your own blog in their comments about how you agree or disagree and wrote an article about this agreement/disagreement.
- If you are lucky, they may write something on your blog that you agree/disagree with about your comments on their blog, thus beginning a self-perpetuating cycle that will never end… I am sure this is how all successful bloggers start.

I have hotlinked to a watermarked picture about copying/cheating, because it just feels right for this article (not to mention I have decided to post a marginally-related picture in any post for my own aesthetic pleasure)…
Blogging is the most meta thing possible. You are writing to be read, but by other people that blog, who want to have you (another blogger) read their site. It is an inbred damned circle, unwelcoming to the people that don’t produce content (although the blogger would love these people to comment on their blog, or for them to become inspired by reading your blog and then begin blogging themselves and post a link to your blog and direct other bloggers to the originating site).
If you could search all blogs to see what the number one blog topic is, it would be about blogging ideas or the lack of ideas. It is hard to create new content all the time, so sometimes it is good just to bitch about that difficulty, and that is your prerogative and a topic to create a post (look… even more meta is my bitching about bloggers blogging about how it is hard to blog, because I CAN’T THINK OF ANYTHING TO BLOG!!).
If you have any critical input into the analysis that you have just read, feel free to link me or comment below, I may read any comments and go to the site and comment on them in order to lead them back here though… (or just fuck off if you are not in the mood to reciprocate you self-centered bastiches).
Time to Throw DOWN!!!
I am feeling like it may be time to take this blogging shit more seriously. In effect, I think it is time to throw down:
This blog (and most blogs in the internets) is a half-assed attempt to spur people into communicating and myself into writing something worthwhile. In effect, it is just an ego trip; myself hoping that people will just read and comment due to the compelling nature of the content.
In the real world, this does not happen without networking or self-promotion. Realistically, I should actively pursue some dialog, and that may mean commenting in the blogosphere, finding and maintaining a voice and looking for others that share my ideas/passions…
The fight could begin for the attention of the few, the nerdy and the semi-apathetic (because the apathetic are damned difficult to reach). Unfortunately, I am one of the more-than semi-apathetic.
