No Jury Duty…

Again I miss out on being part of a jury.

Just a gavel...

I have always wanted to take part in the social judgment of culpability in legal matters, but I have never been called even for consideration.

Perhaps next year.

This blog post will serve to mark the date in which I was last called jury service… it seems that California calls you a little bit sooner than one year exactly.

We will see!

A Worthwhile Post takes Far too Long…

I had a brilliant idea for a post (okay, a mediocre one at least), but it needs time to be realized. I have links and the idea is swirling and percolating in my subconscious.

Unfortunately, having it be the post for day two of forced daily blogging is not looking good, as I want to go to sleep. In other words, this is a half-assed attempt at making a worthwhile post while another is about to be birthed. It is too bad that I do not focus on what to write on a daily basis; I am sure that dividing my attention between my employment and ideas for social thoughts on the web would not be appreciated by my employer, but good for writing.

The Dangers of Nuclear Power…

I need to blog some more. I was out of town and working constantly, but this is no excuse. It is just a routine… a post a day at least. From there… hundreds more will follow.

I will spur myself by pilfering a picture from my friend John… quite the photographer, I must say.

Feels very cold war, but, in fact, is just plain cold.

Perhaps mobile posting will work this time…

I am currently sitting in the Oakland Airport writing an entry on my mobille phone. I tried once before, and it was lost to the ether… I would prefer to e-mail posts, but this looks like the manner in which this will actually work.

Increases in the National Debt (Democrat vs. Republican)

I found the chart below through HotLinks, which captures link blogs of numerous people… such as Jeremy Zawodny, the chart site’s link source. Hot Links is an excellent source for scintillating web information gleaned by people with similar interests that pore over sites for kicks during their vast amounts of leisure time (I kid… maybe). It is basically a link blog of link blogs (very Meta).

Anyways, I love a nice visualization… This particular chart is from the Gardena Valley Democratic Club (a painfully Web 1.0 website, but the graph is excellent in its homespun earnestness):

The website has facts and figures to back-up the chart, but I just like the arrows and exclamation points. Who needs facts when there are directional indices written in an offshoot of Comic Sans?
